 Over-sized hats are one of the most daring new fall trends. Reminiscent of the styles worn to the Kentucky Derby, these new huge hats are begging to be worn with everyday outfits. While they may not be for the faint of heart, embracing the big-hat trend will unleash your inner vintage-glam diva. Over-sized hats with wide brims look exquisite with wool wrap dresses and pencil skirts. Of course, you can always get away with wearing a pair of dark-colored skinny jeans, a cropped cardigan and a cotton tank with your over-sized hat if you prefer. I Wear Pink For Grandma

In February I lost the most important person in my life to cancer, my grandma, and this set touched my heart. It may be almost the end of October and Breast Cancer Awareness month but I will forever cherish the loving memories of my grandma. Thank you PiaPia for making such a beautiful set and dedicating it to those who have experienced a loss of a loved one to cancer.

 So, unfortunately I didn't make it to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC this past September, but guess what? I'm lucky enough to be going to this year's 6th annual Runway Show, for Harriet's Park Avenue Fashion week. It's here in my city, Orlando, and I can't wait to see what's hitting the catwalk! I heard that last year's show was amazing and I'm sure there's a lot to offer this year with the emerging designers and all the boutiques from Winter Park and more. The set up is already making quite a statement! PAFW: Avant-Garde Trunk Show & Fashion Soirée

  As you may or may not know from my previous post, Harriet's Park Avenue Fashion Week has finally arrived! It has officially started on Sunday Oct. 14th and will finish off with a highly anticipated Runway Show on Saturday Oct. 20th. This event is fashion filled with days full of amazing events hosted by several shoppes and designers in Winter Park's very own gem, Park Avenue. As I wish I could have attended all, I was only able to make it to one of the week day fetes! Tuesday, featured an "Avant-Garde Trunk Show and Fashion Soirée" hosted by a very trendy boutique specializing in rarity pieces, Things and Fashion, located on the corner of Park Ave and Morse blvd.

 I found myself immediately welcomed by shoppe owner, Julius, as he led me to the terrace of a fantastic party, filled with entertainment, refreshments and of course, my fave...mini cupcakes served by handsome men. Models were styled from head to toe, dressed in amazing gowns, and adorned with the trendiest accessories. The event was sponsored by Things & Fashion, VitaminWater, PlanetTogs, iLashWorks and more. I experienced a great time from beginning to end and I can not wait for the main event on Saturday, the Runway Show! Park Avenue Fashion Week: Orlando Oct. 14-20

HARRIETT’S PARK AVENUE FASHION WEEK CELEBRATES FASHION AND DESIGN IN WINTER PARK

Winter Park, Florida –Harriett’s Park Avenue Fashion Week (HPAFW), Central Florida’s most comprehensive annual fashion event, brings the experience of high-fashion to Winter Park from October 14-20, 2012.  Central Park’s West Meadow is transformed into a fashion paradise featuring a 20,000-square-foot, air-conditioned tent with a full runway and lounge area modeled after New York Fashion Week’s Bryant Park.  

Harriett’s Park Avenue Fashion Week, named for one of the event’s most enthusiastic supporters, Harriett Lake, kicks off its sixth season in stores on Sunday, October 14, with seven days packed with trunk shows, designer meet-and-greets, VIP parties, special sales and more.  The week culminates on Saturday, October 20, with a spectacular runway show.

“The glamorous style, high fashion and talented designers make our celebration one of the premier fashion shows in the Southeast,” explains Paige Blackwelder, co-owner of Tuni and chair for the event.  “You can’t get up close like this in New York.”

Harriett’s Park Avenue Fashion Week is a proud supporter of the Winter Park Women’s Health Pavilion at Winter Park Memorial Hospital and their fight against women’s cancers.  A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to the organization.

“Park Avenue Fashion Week attracts visitors from across Central Florida to discover the many exceptional boutiques and salons in downtown Winter Park,” said Patrick Chapin, president/CEO of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce.
